Lifelong Learning, Training, Human Development and Meaningful Futures

It is of vital importance that there a renewed focus on Life Long Learning which includes education and training that will require massive investment and imaginative programming;

The First Nations of Treaty 2 Territory and therefore assert the Right to develop and establish an system that is designed and created by the members of the Treaty 2 territory. As part of the decision to work towards the establishment of the Nation of First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory, a second decision was made to establish the improvement of educational results as a priority of the new nation.  The new Nation was charged with carrying on the work on education as a priority which had been going on for the last four years.

  • To establish a System, for the Nation with each community governing its own local system within that structure;
  • To Establish an Education Act for that Nation,
  • To establish an Institute for Life Long Learning which includes post-secondary education and training;

Each of the language and cultural groups within the Nation would have its own advisory group or council to deal with matters related to them, their language and culture.
