Treaty No. 2 was an agreement established August 21, 1871 at Manitoba House, with Representatives of the Queen of England. This document acknowledges, and enshrines all the authority of Anishinaabe Jurisdiction, Sovereignty and Nationhood. Anishinaabe Agowidiiwinan - Treaty 2, includes other Anishinaabe, whose Reserves are within the boundaries of Anishinaabe Agowidiiwinan - Treaty 2. It is upon this foundation, that we place our Governance Structure, and is the basis of our Authority, our Jurisdiction, and our Onankonehkawin (Laws).

To protect the collective, inherent, aboriginal and Treaty rights of Anishinaabe Agowidiiwinan -
Treaty 2 and the lands, waters, and resources
within the boundaries, of Anishinaabe Agowidiiwinan - Treaty 2.
Treaty 2 extends north of Treaty 1 territory, from the east shore of Lake Winnipeg, across the centre and southwest of Manitoba to the Moose Mountains in southeastern Saskatchewan.
